WHAT IF?
WHAT IF THINGS WERE DIFFERENT?

What if a race was more than just a “race”? Off Course Racing endeavors to elevate the competitive cycling arena and redefine the traditional race-event experience. Off Course Racing understands a well organized and top-tier competitive environment are mandatory ingredients for a successful race. But, we believe a race-event should also provide a platform to socialize with like-minded athletes, explore new trends, products and opportunities in the cycling world. A race-event should be a place where cycling athletes, fans and enthusiasts can come together to collectively discuss, experience, and grow the future of cycling and it’s multiple facets. Let’s have some fun!

Host of the 2016

Québec Criterium

Championships

Off Course Racing debut its first sanctioned criterium one year ago. What a race! The 2015 event was a true success and received overwhelming support from the cycling community and the Québec Cycling Federation. Born out of a desire to make road cycling more exciting for racer and spectators, Off Course Racing set-out to create an event that transcended standard and customary expectations in terms of race course, event location and programming. Off Course Racing has pushed things even further this season. Not only is Off Course Crit is coming back, it’s coming back in a big way! We are pleased and proud to announce Off Course Racing as the Official Host of the Québec Provincial Criterium Championships: Shaw Direct! This year the event will be set on two venues; The Off Course race site and Bromont’s National Cycling Center. Race it or come as spectator and ride the track. This time around is not only about racing and fun — it’s also time to be a Champion!

COURSE

MAP

The race course is set on a closed circuit which surrounds the old Hyundai car manufacturing plant. The factory is now being operated in part by the Fabritec Group; a kitchen and bathrooms cabinet supplier, and also by Raccoon skis which are made with 100% Maple wood. This industrial venue is a real playground for road bikes. The races will be set on a strategically placed paved course with 1.4 km per lap. The course includes two skywalk bridges under which racers will fly by and also has two major straight speed stretches where competitors can push their limits and pull away from the rest of the pack before the need to carefully manoeuvre two 90 degree turns and one challenging “S” turn. Coming out of the last turn; riders have a great opportunity to display their sprinting skills as they challenge each other all the way to the finish line!
